Hubert Kerr was born with a passion for the culinary arts and a desire to develop the finest baked goods on the market. As a young man, he followed his heart's desire by working as an apprentice baker and dedicated many years to learning from the experts.
In addition to becoming a professional baker, Hubert Kerr studied bakery technology and is an authority and qualified teacher in this area. After years of dedication to developing great expertise in all aspects of baking and bakery technology, Hubert Kerr founded Sunstart Bakery in 1991.

Hubert's first experience with celiac disease was a family affair. A cousin of Hubert's with celiac disease enjoyed the special wheat & gluten-free desserts Hubert baked for her.

Sunstart Bakery is a dedicated wheat-free facility located in the beautiful glens of Antrim in Northern Ireland. Sunstart Bakery is accredited with the higher British retail council award and is the recipient of the British Bakery award for innovation. Sunstart Bakery USA was established in 2004 and our USA facility is centrally located near Chicago.
